Rockefeller Center Flower and Garden Show

Conservatory Design for Flower and Garden Show

As our society reawakens to the tenets of environmentalism
and the many pleasures of gardening, the conservatory is
once again moving to the fore as the ideal structure to house
these interests. Many of the country's magnificent public conservatories have been lovingly restored and reopened to an awaiting public.

Recently, Tanglewood had the honor of designing and building
three conservatories as the central feature at Rockefeller Center's Flower and Garden Show. Manhattan skyscrapers and a reflective lily pond create a dramatic setting for this 20-foot-tall conservatory with ornate beveled and leaded glass. City lights filter through the motorized roof blinds and bathe the colorful interior.
